Exam Tips & Key Evidence
- →Separate ratings can be awarded for loss of eyebrows and loss of eyelashes under the eye schedule, even alongside an alopecia areata rating.
- →Male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) is genetic and the VA will NOT service-connect it. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition and is different.
- →Document the extent and progression of your hair loss with photos and medical records.
- →If alopecia causes significant emotional distress, consider a secondary claim for a mental health condition.
