Broken Lower Jaw - Nonunion (Nonunion of Mandible)
Nonunion of the mandible means a fracture of the lower jaw that never fully heals. It is rated under DC 9903 based on how much chewing ability is affected and whether there is abnormal movement of the jaw. This condition must be confirmed by X-ray or other imaging.

- →Imaging confirmation is required for this diagnosis, so make sure you have recent X-rays or CT scans documenting the nonunion.
- →Be specific about how the condition affects your daily eating. Describe what foods you can and cannot eat.
