Loss of Lower Jaw (Loss of Mandible)
Loss of the lower jaw (mandible) is rated under DC 9901 and 9902 based on three factors: how much bone is missing, whether a prosthesis can be used, and whether chewing ability is affected. Ratings range from 10% for minor loss that a prosthesis can address up to 100% for complete loss of the mandible.
