Exam Tips & Key Evidence

  • If the enlargement causes disfigurement of the neck, you may qualify for a separate scar or disfigurement rating under the skin schedule.
  • Difficulty swallowing caused by the enlargement can potentially be rated separately under the digestive system schedule.
  • Document all symptoms and complications thoroughly before the 6-month re-evaluation to maximize your residual ratings.
  • Common secondary conditions include difficulty swallowing, neck disfigurement, double vision, hyperthyroid heart disease, and other vision issues.
