Bulimia Nervosa

Bulimia Nervosa is rated under Diagnostic Code 9521 using the same separate eating disorder rating schedule as anorexia. This is the only exception to the single mental health rating rule; veterans will receive a separate rating for the eating disorder in addition to any other mental health rating. The VA only rates eating disorders that result in extreme weight loss. Incapacitating episodes are defined as bed rest and treatment prescribed by a physician.
