Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (FSAD)
Female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD) is the inability to achieve or maintain arousal during sexual activity. It is rated at 0% under DC 7632 but qualifies the veteran for Special Monthly Compensation at the K rate (SMC-K). This condition must be diagnosed by a qualified medical professional. A mental health professional is not qualified to diagnose FSAD because, while there can be a mental component, it is ultimately a physiological condition.

Exam Tips & Key Evidence
- →Even though the rating is 0%, the real value is the SMC-K payment, which is a separate monthly payment on top of your disability compensation.
- →FSAD must be diagnosed by a medical doctor, not a mental health provider. Make sure you see the right type of specialist.
- →If FSAD is caused by medication for another service-connected condition (such as antidepressants for PTSD), claim it as a secondary condition.
