Gynecological Diseases, Injuries, and Adhesions

Diseases, injuries, and adhesions of the cervix, fallopian tubes (including pelvic inflammatory disease), ovary, uterus, vagina, and vulva or clitoris (including vulvovaginitis) are all rated under the same schedule at DC 7610 through 7615. Each affected body part can receive its own individual rating. Ratings are based on whether symptoms require continuous treatment and whether treatment controls the condition. Disorders of menstruation (secondary amenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea) also fall under this schedule but cannot be granted direct or aggravated service connection.

Exam Tips & Key Evidence

  • You can receive separate ratings for each affected body part (cervix, fallopian tube, ovary, uterus, vagina, vulva). Document involvement of each area.
  • The critical distinction is whether treatment controls your symptoms. If you are on continuous medication and still symptomatic, that supports 30%.
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) falls under the fallopian tube category and is rated using this same schedule.
  • Menstrual disorders can only be service-connected as secondary to another condition. They cannot be granted on a direct or aggravation basis.
